The Birds in Toyland quilt from Becky Goldsmith and Linda Jenkins holds all of the whimsy and wonder you’ve come to expect from Piece O’ Cake Designs. Stitch 13 wintery scenes into a pieced Irish Chain quilt, all framed with a playful appliquéd vintage Christmas lights border. The book includes bonus instructions for a decorative pillow and a wall hanging in two sizes. A robust project gallery includes color and fabric inspiration. Christmas never looked so cute!

We will be doing the 10" block, light-colored version for our BOM in all cotton. Sandy has chosen a lovely light background and beautiful pastel and jewel-tone colors for the appliqués. Stop by the shop or see below for pictures of the first few blocks. Sandy has also curated the perfect embellishments for this quilt including buttons, beads, sequins, ribbon, and rickrack which will be included each month with the block kits. A small project pouch will also be included in case you choose to save your embellishments until the end after your quilt has been quilted.

Each month, you will receive one or two blocks with the fabric for the Irish Chain blocks and binding coming in Month 13. In addition to the fabrics, your kit will include printouts of the appliqué blocks layouts already enlarged for you to the correct size, and all the embellisments for the blocks for that month month (buttons, beads, ribbon, sequines, rickrack, etc). Sandy will add the embellishments to each block as we go, so you can see how they look. But, if you want to save your's until after the quilt is quilted, each set is numbered and we are providing a small pouch for you to use to keep the embellishment packs together until the end.

Once you sign up for this BOM, it is a non-refundable, non-cancellable commitment. We will contact you to put your credit card on file for auto charging at the beginning of each month. You can have your kits shipped to you for 5.99/mo.

Cost is $51.99 for your reservation (includes the book) and Mo 13 block payment; you will be charged $16.99/mo for the Mo 1-12 block payments.

The monthly kits will include enough fabric for the quilt top and binding.

Purchase of this block of the month also entitles you to attend the monthly Granary BOM Sunday Sew (dates vary). You will receive an invite for the Granary BOM Sunday Sew about 2 weeks in advance. Sandy will be at May and June Granary BOM Sunday Sews from 10-1 to answer any questions if you need help to get started!
