This is a fun, easy-going project. Don’t limit yourself to typical Valentine’s day colors. Try soft pastels or grey and whites for a bride’s shower or wedding reception table. Hit your stash for leftover strips and small scraps!
The letters and arrows are appliquéd using fusible webbing and finished with decorative stitching. For the hearts, after crazy piecing the tops, lightweight fusible interfacing is used to create easily turned under edges. Each heart is then fused to the background and the turned under edges are secured using invisible machine appliqué. This is the perfect little project to try your hand at appliquilting—just fuse your appliqué pieces, layer your quilt, and secure the appliqué edges and quilt at the same time!
Experience with rotary cutting and piecing necessary. This is an intermediate level quilting project.
