This is a fun, easy-going project. Don’t limit yourself to typical Valentine’s day colors. Try soft pastels or grey and whites for a bride’s shower or wedding gift. How about a St. Patrick’s Day or Christmas version? Hit your stash for leftover strips and small scraps!
The crazy heart is easily made using a starter piece and various strips. It is then embellished with decorative stitches or hand embroidery. Then, lightweight fusible interfacing is used to create easily turned under edges. The heart is then fused to the background and the turned under edges are secured using invisible machine appliqué. You can layer and quilt the background of your pillow and backing pieces or simply finish into pillow. Directions for making the pocket-style pillow are included.
Experience with rotary cutting and piecing necessary. This is an intermediate level quilting project.
