The California poppy, Eschscholtzia californica, has been California’s official state flower since 1903. It blooms in the spring and summer all over the Golden State. It’s flower petals range in color from red to yellow, but it’s the hues of bright orange that make it our favorite. It’s foliage is a beautiful blue-green color. Did you know that the four-petal flowers close at night and are edible?
This California Poppies Applique motif measures approximately 8" x 9" and is designed to fit nicely on a 12" x 12" finished block. Full-size templates for the appliqué motifs are provided as well as a layout diagram.
This pattern assumes you are familiar with fusible appliqué techniques. This is an advanced beginner level project.
