Mystery Five-0 Quilt Program

Here at The Granary Quilt Shop, we're thrilled to bring you an exclusive quilting experience like no other!

As a Charter Member of Mystery Five-0, we're delivering extraordinary Mini- and Mega-Mysteries designed to spark creativity, build community, and keep you guessing. Get ready to uncover stunning quilt designs, one clue at a time!

We will be offering two different mystery programs in 2026 - Mini-Mystery and larger, Mega-Mystery Quilts:

- Mini-Mystery Quilts are FREE one-day virtual events hosted in our Private Mystery Five-0 Facebook Group. They make a mini quilt project. You can purchase a curated bundle for these projects or use your stash. To stay informed, Join our Mystery Five-0 Facebook Group here!

- Larger, Mega-Mystery Quilts are approximately throw-size quilts. You are eligible to receive the emailed Mystery Five-0 quilt clues, if you have made any qualifying* $50 purchase at the The Granary (on-line or in store) during the sign up period, the month prior to the Mystery. (But if you are late to the party, a qualifying purchase in the month of the mystery itself - up to the day before the reveal - will also qualify you to receive the clues). If you are already doing some shopping at The Granary in the month before the Mystery...hurray...you are automatically registered for that mystery with your $50 purchase! If you want to participate in the Mystery but haven't made a qualifying merchandise or classes purchase in the sign up period, we suggest you purchase a $50 gift certificate to the shop. You'll spend it when you want, and you will be registered for the upcoming Mystery. Larger mysteries are offered several times throughout the year, run 5 weeks long, and the clues are emailed to registered members. In addition, helpful instructional videos for each clue will be posted on our Facebook Group. You can purchase a curated kit or use your stash. A separate registration is required for each session of these mysteries in order to receive the quilt project clues, even if you are using your stash. 

*Note: Quilting services and batting purchased for quilting services are excluded from qualifying Mega-Mystery purchases. All other merchandise and classes purchases qualify.

Pot O' Luck Mini-Mystery #6 is on September 12th!

The Mystery Five-O Pot O' Luck Mini-Mystery is completely free for you to join! The quilt requires 6 fat quarters (or quarter yard cuts) and will make an 18-1/2" x 35-3/4" runner or wall hanging. You can select one of our carefully curated kits below (kits go on sale August 15th)! Or, if you prefer to shop your stash, we will share a video on our Facebook Group that will help guide you with your fabric choices.

The Surf's Up M50 Mega-Mystery has been revealed!

Did you miss stitching along in July? We still have Surf's Up kits and the complete patterns available for purchase. The Hang-Ten and Riptide mystery layouts are shown to the right. Luau Mega-Mystery #3 has concluded...but don't fret.

The Luau Mega-Mystery may have wrapped, but your Luau journey can still begin today. Choose one of our beautifully curated kits (links below) to ensure your quilt sparkles with color and harmony. 

Prefer to sew from your stash? Pick up either Luau pattern and follow the simple steps to recreate this exclusive Mystery Five-0 design at your own pace. Luau features seven beautiful fabrics in your choice of setting/size (Luau Torches/65" x 83" or Luau Feast/75" x 75"). While the name of the quilt is Hawaiian-themed, the fabrics and designs of the finished quilts are NOT. Choose the fabrics that appeal to you, and you are sure to love your finished quilt.

Happy Go Lucky Mini-Mystery #5 is Concluded!

The mystery may be finished, but the fun doesn’t have to end— you can still make Happy Go Lucky ! Choose one of our curated fabric bundles to ensure a winning combination for your table topper, wall hanging, or pillow. Prefer to shop your stash? You can also purchase the Happy Go Lucky pattern on its own and follow along as you piece this exclusive Mystery Five-0 design featuring the signature triple Friendship Star.

You can purchase the Lucky Break pattern on it's own and follow along as you piece this exclusive Mystery Five-0 design featuring the signature double Friendship Star centerpiece and coordinating star accents.

The Lucky Break mini mystery quilt uses six (6) fat quarters or (6) quarter-yard cuts, and makes a 16" x 40" table runner or door hanger. Meet our Mystery Five-0 heroine, Lara Langston. 

Lara will be popping into our M50 Facebook Group to deliver the clues during the mysteries through the Reveal, so we wanted to make sure you get to know her! 

While sorting through treasures in Nana's attic, Lara Langston discovers a collection of photographs that raise more questions than answers.

Days later a vintage quilt unexpectedly appears among the raffle prizes at Pringle's annual Labor Day Potluck. To everyone else it's simply a beautiful antique quilt. To Lara, it's far more surprising.

She recognizes it. 

Certain she has seen the quilt before, Lara begins investigating how it found it's way to Pringle. What starts as a simple question soon uncovers long-forgotten family connections, hidden pieces of the past, and clues that reach far beyond Iowa. 

As the mystery unfolds, Lara discovers that sometimes the most important treasures aren't found by searching for them--they find you!
