Bondi Top - Beginning Garment Sewing Class

Learn the basics of garment sewing with Audrey & Sadhana as you make this cute top! You will learn how to choose the size, trace and lay out the pattern, pin and cut the pieces, finish seams, and attach a bias neck facing. The Bondi top has a simple design with cap sleeves, a back yoke, and a high-low curved hem. The pattern is included in the class fee. You will use The Granary's equipment and sewing machines for this class. You purchase your fabric separately.

This class is for quilters who want to expand their skills to garment sewing, or people who are new to sewing - but do know how to use a sewing machine. If you have never used a sewing machine, we suggest you first take our Beginning Machine Sewing Class to learn the basics.

Once you sign up for class, you can pick up your pattern and buy your fabric. Fabric should be pre-washed and dried before class, if possible. Sadhana recommends any 100% cotton with a silky finish or one of our Robert Kaufman Essex Cotton/Linen blend fabrics.
To allow for shrinkage, please purchase:
 - 1-3/4 yds for the main fabric (front and back) 
 - 1/3 yd for the contrasting yoke 
 - 1 small Mettler thread to match your fabric (you may want to purchase a second color to match the yoke for top-stitching)

 - The Bondi Top pattern (Sizes 8-22) by Sew to Grow
 - Pellon pattern tracing interfacing to trace the pattern
 - Use of The Granary's scissors, pins, notions, and other tools required for class
 - Use of The Granary's sewing machine
