Beginning Hand Embroidery Class (16+) with Sandy Urquhart

Ever wondered if hand embroidery is for you? Now is the time to find out! Sandy will give you an excellent introduction to the world of hand embroidery. She will cover all the important elements of this ancient craft, teach you how to transfer a design, add your own design elements, prepare your fabric for stitching, and many basic stitches to get you started. All materials are inclued in your class fee, so just show up and have a great time!

In this all-inclusive class you will create a monogram piece with your own embroidery design elements. From a review of the equipment required, preparing your fabric, picking your colors, transfering the design, to learning several different beginnning stitches, Sandy will guide you through the process. Since students work at their own pace, you may not complete the project, but you will have time to learn all the basics and practice all the stitches. You will leave confident enough to tackle your next embroidery project on our own.
