Japanese Knot Bag Class with Audrey Vallen

Join Audrey for this all-inclusive class to learn to make Japanese Knot bags. These practical bags were traditionally used to carry small personal items or lunches. They are just as handy today and make great gifts!
Let Audrey guide you through the slightly tricky sewing and turning method to make these bags. It's easy once you have made one- and you will want to make more!
In this class you will choose a stunning Nara Homespun Japanese print from Robert Kaufman to make the larger bag from Sewn Wyoming's pattern (approx. 11" x 15"). In the second photo below, the bag on the right shows the Nara Homespun light blue origami crane option. The third photo shows all three crane colorways, and the boro (mended-look) choice in two colorways: black/blue or olive. All have touches of gold metallic.
This class is all-inclusive, so you just show up! The pattern, materials, and use of Granary Sewing Machines and tools are all included in the fee.
In addition to excellent instruction you will receive in class:
- Japanese Knot Bag pattern by Sewn Wyoming (makes 2 sizes, 9" x 12" or 11" x 15")
- Full sized template for the larger bag
- Nara Homespun fabric of your choice for the outer bag and a variety of curated fabric choices for the lining.
- Matching thread to use during class
- Use of Granary sewing machine and tools for class
