Log Cabin Foundation Paper-Piecing Workshop with Diane Dalton

Those pads of foundation paper are very enticing, but can be a little intimidating. Join Diane for a 3-hour workshop to explore how to use these versatile papers to easily create highly accurate, stunning quilt blocks. You'll use the 6" Log Cabin Foundation paper from It's Sew Emma in this workshop - not too small and difficult, but petite enough to really hone your foundation paper piecing skills. A few tools are required and of course fabrics. You can choose your own fabrics, or purchase a kit. You will use a Granary Sewing machine, so just bring your supplies – no need to lug your machine for class.

This class is appropriate for confident beginning quilters. You should have experience rotary cutting and machine piecing. Foundation paper piecing experience is helpful, but not required. This class will focus on how to effectively foundation paper-piece and make perfect blocks. You will complete several blocks in class. Plan to finish the blocks and assemble the quilt at home.

Required Supplies (sewing machine provided by The Granary):
 - 6" Log Cabin Foundation by It's Sew Emma (1 pad required)
 - 6" Add-a-Quarter Plus Ruler or 12" Add-a-Quarter Plus Ruler
 - Glue Stick - we recommend the Sewline Water-soluble Glue Stick (refillable)
 - 45mm Rotary Cutter - 1 blade included - General quilting supplies (snips, pins, seam ripper, sewing machine needles, fabric marking pencil)

Optional, But Helpful, Supplies:
 - 8" x 11", 9" x 12", 12" x 18", or 18" x 24" cutting mat (if you have one – we will all need to cut at the same time.) 
 - Wool pressing mat (9" x 12" or larger) and Mini-iron (if you have one – we will all need to iron at the same time.)
 - Violet Craft Seam Roller
