House and Home Collage Class by Jane Haworth

In this new workshop students will begin work on a fabric collage of their home or favorite house (or building). Starting with an enlarged photo you will learn about fabric choices, tips to keep this collage simple and stitching techniques. The workshop will begin with making your pattern and techniques for the collage. Then, Jane will guide you through her free-form and relaxing technique of tracing, cutting and gluing your fabrics onto your pattern. The finished size of this project is approx. 15" x 15" depending on the layout of your image. 

Also learn a variety of ideas for the background treatment and see how Jane approaches the free-motion quilting part of the design.  Bring a sewing machine if you are a fast collager and will reach the stitching stage. You may also rent a machine from the Granary for $15. If you rent a machine, please add a note to your cart so we know what class you want this for.
