Jelly Roll Challenge and Lunch!

Just for some summer fun, Carol and Luann are going to run a handicap-style Jelly Roll Challenge with lunch. Join us for some silly fun and complete a quilt top! What do we mean by handicap-style? Well, we have all kinds of sewing and non-sewing related challenges that allow you to shave points off your time, so the fastest sewer isn't usually the winner. Brush up on your Taylor Swift and Frank Sinatra trivia (hint: we have several "Name that Tune" bonus questions). Time bonuses (and penalties) and prizes will be awarded throughout the day. Don't have a Jelly Roll? No problem, see the links in the class description for the requirements and pre-selected kits you can purchase. Includes lunch and dessert! No cheating! No sewing beforehand!

Grand prize winner will get their quilt top quilted by The Granary for free!

Lunch will be something yummy (we haven't decided yet) and fresh baked bread. Dessert will be delicious! We will take a 1/2 hour lunch break halfway through the class.

No prior experience making a Jelly Roll quilt is required. This challenge is appropriate for beginning quilters. Really, you don't need to know nuthin' to participate and have some fun, so grab a friend and sign up!!!!

Please bring:
- Sewing machine with a 1/4" quilting foot if you have one. (Or, you can rent one of ours; click here.)
- Neutral thread to match your jelly roll (beige or grey works best).
- Thread snips.
- A paper grocery bag (You will use this to corral your long snake so your neighbor doesn't trip over it!)
- Fabric (or order one of our curated kits below):
        - Jelly roll (must have 40-42 - 2-1/2" x 44" strips)
        - 1/4 yd accent fabric (2-1/2" squares that make your quilt sparkle)
        - 1/3 yd for first border
        - 1-1/4 yd for second border
