Introduction to Machine Applique with Julie Cefalu
Add beauty and dimension to your quilts with machine applique! In this class you’ll make a small flower applique block as you learn all about the fusible applique process. The instructor will help you find the best stitches on your machine for applique. You’ll also make a small sample of stitches to audition different settings for stitch width and length.
In this class, you will learn how to prepare your piece for raw edge appliqué and finish it with a blanket stitch, fine zigzag stitch, or satin zigzag stitch. You’ll also prepare a turned edge appliqué piece that will be finished with an invisible machine stitch. You will complete a sample of each technique in class, so you’ll be ready for your next appliqué project!
You will use your own sewing machine for this class. Print the list of required materials below.
