Introduction to Machine Applique with Julie Cefalu

Add beauty and dimension to your quilts with machine applique! In this class you’ll make a small flower applique block as you learn all about the fusible applique process. The instructor will help you find the best stitches on your machine for applique. You’ll also make a small sample of stitches to audition different settings for stitch width and length. This is an all-inclusive class, you don't need to prepare or bring anything to class.
In this class, you will learn how to prepare your piece for raw edge appliqué and finish it with a blanket stitch, fine zigzag stitch, or satin zigzag stitch. You’ll also prepare a turned edge appliqué piece that will be finished with an invisible machine stitch. You will complete a sample of each technique in class, so you’ll be ready for your next appliqué project!
This class is suitable for those already familiar with a sewing machine that want to become familiar with machine raw edge appliqué.
This is an all-inclusive class. You will receive the book and a kit with all the fabric, thread, and materials required to complete the wall hanging. You will use Granary sewing machines and tools during class.
