Longarm Quilting Services - See quilt check-in instructions below.
The Granary is pleased to offer longarm quilting services. Our Gammill longarm, affectionately named Sewfie
has been used to quilt thousands of our customer's beautiful quilts! We are pleased to offer a quick turn-around at a reasonable price.
We use Creative Studio
to guide Sewfie
in creating state of the art stitch and design precision. We currently offer Edge-to-Edge (E2E...also known as a Pantograph) services only. E2E is a single pattern used on the entire quilt top. The rows interlock to create an all-over quilting pattern. We have a wide selection of quilting designs to choose from.
For more information and information on preparing your quilt top and backing, click here to see or download our Longarm Services brochure
. Please note that failure to properly prepare you quilt top and backing will result in a longer turn-around time. Common problems are backing that is too small or not squared properly. For best results, press your backing and quilt top very well before dropping it off. Please be sure threads are trimmed. When your quilt is ready, please email the shop to request the Longarm Services Form and find out the current wait time. Once your form is filled out, you may drop off your completed/signed form, quilt top, and backing during business hours, Wed - Sat, 10am - 3pm. Limit two quilts per person. There is no longer a binder of quilting designs at the shop - you MUST select your quilting design online and record it on your form before dropping off your quilt. Staff will not measure your quilt and backing and fill out your form.
When you drop off your quilt please be prepared to give your credit card information. Quilts will not be scheduled for quilting without a credit card number to charge on file. Your card won't be charged until a few days before it is quilted when your quilt is prepared for quilting.PLEASE NOTE:
We will no longer take quilts with bargain-brand Minky used on the quilt top or for backing. We will only take quilts using Shannon Cuddle brand Minky; we carry this at The Granary. With all Minky, some of the backing fibers will show through on the quilt top. Keep this in mind when choosing your top thread. This problem is far worse with bargain-brand Minky due to the fact that the weave can be very loose. This also causes skipped stitches and imperfect results.
